The Community Services Command (CSC) is proud to announce the launch and pilot phase of the Single Coastie Program (SCP), a category A MWR Activity designed to enhance the quality of life, support networks, and overall well-being of single service members service wide.

1. In accordance with reference (a), The Community Services Command (CSC) is proud to announce the launch and pilot phase of the Single Coastie Program (SCP), a category A MWR Activity designed to enhance the quality of life, support networks, and overall well-being of single service members service wide. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by single service members, this program aims to foster community, provide valuable resources, and improve resilience through targeted support and engagement opportunities.

2. The SCP Standard Operating Procedures can be found at: https://www.coastguardmwr.org/_files/ugd/458cd4_69e93262d114451d83385d4be1751987.pdf. The SCP will initially be piloted at select units with full time MWR Directors to assess its impact and effectiveness. During this phase, participating units will implement activities and resources tailored to single Coast Guardsmen, including:

a. Outdoor Activities: Paintball, skiing trips, hiking, camping, and other outdoor adventures to foster team building and personal enjoyment.

b. Community Service Projects: Opportunities for members to volunteer with local organizations, including charity events, food banks, clean-up initiatives, and mentorship programs.

c. Social Events: Regular social gatherings including movie nights, game nights, and other events to build camaraderie and foster personal connections.

d. Educational Presentations/Workshops: Sessions on personal finance, wellness, mental health, career development, and other topics relevant to young adults and service members.

e. Leadership and Development Activities: Organized leadership training, team-building exercises, and mentoring programs to encourage personal growth and professional development.

f. Feedback Sessions: Regular meetings where members can provide input on the program, suggest new activities, and voice any concerns regarding their quality of life.

3. The pilot phase will be closely monitored. Feedback from participants is essential in program refinement prior to full implementation. Commands are encouraged to support this initiative by promoting participation and providing insights into its effectiveness.

4. Participating Units: The following units submitted a SCP budget to CSC to pilot the Single Coastie Program:

a. Base Portsmouth
b. Base Kodiak
c. Base Seattle
d. Base Borinquen
e. Base San Juan
f. Base National Capital Region
g. Base New Orleans
h. Base Cleveland
i. TRACEN Petaluma
j. CG Academy

5. Units participating in the pilot will receive further guidance. All members are encouraged to share input through their local MWR representatives. Additional details and updates on program expansion will be communicated through a subsequent ALCGPSC.
