I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 MWR Awards. Thank you to all units for participating in the Annual MWR Awards and recognizing the contributions of MWR to support the readiness, retention, and resiliency of the Coast Guard family.

This announcement solicits nominations for the Elite Male and Female Athletes of the Year (EAOY) for 2024. The period of consideration is 1 Jan 2024 through 31 Dec 2024. Nominations must arrive at the Community Services Command (CSC) no later than 17 Jan 2025.

The Coast Guard Golf team will compete in the 2025 Armed Forces Sports (AFS) Golf Championship at Paris Island, SC, from 18 Feb to 1 Mar. Coast Guard Sports will host a Service Qualifier from 19-24 Feb to select the six men and four women to represent the Coast Guard.

Thanks to the generosity of the CGF SMF, Coast Guard units have acquired exercise, morale, and recreational equipment that has greatly improved the quality of life for Coast Guard personnel and their families.

The objectives of this tournament are to exhibit sportsmanship and team play, develop a respectfully competitive spirit, and showcase our Service members' athletic talent.

A Per Capita distribution amount of 55 dollars per active duty billet is projected for 2025. The final Per Capita amount will be determined by the Non-Pay Compensation Board of Directors in March of 2025.

Training Center Yorktown is sponsoring the Second Annual Summer Slam Volleyball Tournament to be held at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown from 16-18 September 2024.

The MWR awards program honors three categories; MWR Program of the Year, Morale Program of the Year, and MWR Professional of the Year.

CGX awards two scholarships per year. These scholarships are awarded based upon academic achievements, accomplishments, interests, and demonstrated leadership in both school and volunteer activities.

The Nonpay Compensation Program Board of Directors approved a per capita distribution of 55 dollars for NAF Year 2024. We are excited to announce the first increase in the per capita since 2015.

Coast Guard Rugby will compete in the 2024 Men’s Armed Forces Sports (AFS) Rugby Sevens Championship in Glendale, CO, from 15-26 August.

Coast Guard Rugby will compete in the 2024 Women’s Armed Forces Sports (AFS) Rugby Sevens Championship in San Diego, CA, from 3‐14 July.

The Community Services Command (CSC) solicited for MWR CIF projects, which resulted in 149 project submissions from Coast Guard units totaling $12.9M.

Navy trials/Armed Forces competitions are open to all Coast Guard members on active duty.

Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to the most outstanding applicants based upon academic achievement, accomplishments, interests, participation, and demonstrated leadership in both school‐oriented and community/volunteer activities.

Training Center Yorktown is sponsoring the 43rd Annual MLK Basketball Tournament to be held at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown from 17-20 January 2023.

The LAI tournament provides a unique training opportunity to help our coaches evaluate players and form team cohesion ahead of the Armed Forces Sports Championships in August 2023. Although not mandatory, participation is highly encouraged.
